Installation of new masts for the extension of municipal lighting in SW Afantou on the island of Rhodes

The present project provided for the extension of Municipal lighting in the Afantos Municipal Unit of the Municipality of Rhodes, with the installation of FRP type masts and LED top lighting fixtures.

This is a technologically advanced project, as FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer) webs, made of reinforced polymer material, are significantly lighter than metal ones and ideal for installation in coastal areas, since they resist corrosion from moisture and do not require special maintenance. In fact, they demonstrate great resistance to wind pressure, while their non-conductive nature makes them suitable for areas with intense and frequent lightning activity, but also for places where the risk of electric shock is increased. Their installation is easy and fast. The combination of high strength and light structure that characterizes FRP webs makes them increasingly popular.

Finally, their combination with LED type top lighting bodies increases the life time of the project and provides greater savings, in terms of electricity consumption and therefore financial resources, to the managing Service.
